Today is the end of the gift-giving season...tomorrow starts the gift-returning season. In the spirit of the holiday, I present the end of my Fantasy gifts and coal. Hope you all enjoy and had a great holiday season...or at least the day off.

A Fantasy Christmahanaukwanzakua!
Following in the tradition of
holiday giving, I present the forces of Fantasy with their presents for the
worthy and coal for the evil ones…

It's a 40k Chrismahanukwanska!
It’s that wonderful time of year. A
time of decorations, family, food, and of course presents. It is in that spirit
of giving that I present the armies of 40k each with a seasonal treat. Of
course, I did draw some inspiration from another certain fat jolly fellow and a
few armies will get the coal they so rightly deserve, but all in all, just about
everyone was good this year so should have a happy holiday. **Note: I did not
want to use the easy answer of “A new book” or “a price drop”. I’ll put it
right here, everyone should get a 20% price drop minimum and some of the really
insanely priced things should get even more, but I wanted to give this more
thought.

Size Matters
For years there's been a debate on game sizes. Which is better? Is it the epic massive battle or the smaller engagements? Both have their merits and flaws.

My First 6th Ed. Experience
Today was my first game of 6th edition and I loved it. I'll be honest...the last year of 5th ed. I found myself losing interest. The rules had gotten stagnant and the game balance was basically non-exsistant. It just wasn't fun anymore. Then came the promise of 6th edition that was supposed to fix everything. I don't know if it did, but I am very happy with most of it, and pleased to have my hobby back.

Back Again
Yes, I'm back after an unintentional summer off. 6th edition came out, Orkfest was a month ago and I just couldn't think of anything to talk about. So here's a little update of the last 2 months.

This is the end...my only friend...
Well here we are. 6th edition is fast approaching and in just 4 short years since 5th dropped and changed everything, everything is changing again. 5th edition was the first full edition I played, having started the spring of 2008. 5th edition will always be special to me for a few reasons. It all started in a quaint shop in Marlboro, NJ the night of July 11, 2008…

For Sigmar!
The General returns with an army review of Empire. The book's been out for a few weeks now and the hype has calmed down a bit so now we can see what's good, what's bad and what's there to destroy the enemies of Man. Get comfy...this is going to be a long one...

Gaarr! Change! No want!
So 6th edition rumors are on the rise and with them comes the typical internet rage-panic. Every time there's a new possible rule change it's followed by the outcry of those vowing to rage-quit and bitching that this will doom the game. For those people I have 2 things: 1. Change is good because the current state of the game blows and 2. these are RUMORS. Until we have the actual book, people need to calm the hell down.

Look what I got...
Well, a few weeks back Bell of Lost Souls and Spikey Bits ran a contest through their message board. The winner got $400 credit at Spikey Bits online store. Well, it turns out I won, so here's what $400 can get you from Spikey bits

GW Reaches New Levels of Stupidity
IN the last few weeks, there have been rumblings in the interwebs about the end of Ard Boys. Well now we have confirmation that not only is Ard Boys dead, but GW is all but pulling out of the tournament business.

The Rotting Chronicles...
This is something I haven't really tried before, but it was fun so here goes. The creative writing bug has bitten. I wanted to do something fun and interesting and I've been in a very fantasy mood of late...studying my new Vampire Counts and all. I decided to start a new series. I plan on adding stories in the future when the mood strikes me, but here is part 1 of The Rotting Chronicles:

Well FAQ this!
Well, It’s been a few weeks since the new FAQ’s came out, so in my usual delayed fashion, let’s see what’s changed…what’s good…what sucks and what GW may or may not have been smoking. We’re going to start with the ones that will affect me since I play these armies and this is my great domain, so deal with it.

More Armies, More Fun!
I'm back for part 2 of my Fantasy army breakdown. We have some good ones coming up...and a few not-so-good ones. So on with the breakdown...

It's Hip to be Square
The General’s back with the square-based version of his patented (yes I will patent it so the next time a blog does this they owe me a nickel.) Game-wide army reviews. Besides, I needed an excuse to quote Huey Lewis (Next time, Morris Day maybe). Once upon a time I did this for 40K so it’s about time I did it for fantasy. Like before, I will be looking at capability of the army…complexity for the new gamer…model line, availability and cost…any helpful hints and whatever else I deem relevant before giving a final grade. I’m going in alphabetical order so we start with…

The dead have risen...
Once again, I’m a happy General. Fresh on the heels of my undead robots getting a much-needed update, my undead bloodsuckers now have a new book. We got some new toys, some tricks and some interesting changes, and I think VC will go back to being a capable army.
